I started with the Sands as a Dealer when Table Games opened in 2010. I’ve since had the opportunity to advance through the department as a Dual Rate Supervisor to Full Time Supervisor. I am currently a Dual Rate Pit Manager.
Why do you like working at Sands?
My co-workers in the Table Games department are tremendously social and outgoing. They really are the nicest group of people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.
What makes your department so unique?
Table games is one of the only departments that actually sits eye-to-eye with our customers. It’s our job to make sure that our guests enjoy themselves, leave with a smile on their face, and to encourage them to return even if they didn’t win.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
When dealing, the most rewarding part of my job was being called from a slow game to a packed craps game to help better serve our customers. These times made you realize that all the hard work you spent practicing your craft was worthwhile.
What are your favorite benefits at Sands?
The benefits provided by the Sands are wonderful! The fact that they provide medical, dental, and vision is extremely helpful when you have a family. I feel secure knowing that if anything were to go wrong for my family or myself, that we would be completely covered.
Do you feel recognition in the work you perform?
Everyday. Aside from the company wide “BRAVO Award” and “You Rock Awards” in April and October, the Table Games department also has a “Golden Apron Award” given to an exemplary dealer for unmatched customer service as well as dealing acumen. Additionally, the Table Games Director throws a bi-annual appreciation party which includes games, prizes, and food for everyone in the department.
Would you recommend Sands to anyone out there?
I have been extolling the virtues of the Sands since I arrived and try to explain to anyone I meet that is unemployed, under-employed or miserable at their current job, that a better future is within reach.
Can you share some of your favorite moments at Sands?
There is something down-right fun about hustling around the casino floor, trying to keep up with the flow of business in this place. I’m amazed every day at the growth and pace of this casino.
